Evil seems to be ascendant everywhere. Fascists and thugs, plutocrats and dictators, and angry mobs are taking control in country after country. The goodness in people, the sense of empathy, of community, of kindness and of common purpose seems lost—a quaint parable with no force and no place in the world. But is this the case? Can we turn the tables, saving the Earth and our own souls?
