Can policing effectively combine the warrior and guardian mindsets?

There has been some criticism of the warrior/guardian model, which includes the idea that the two are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Is it possible for one police officer to hold attitudes that are tied to both guardian and warrior mindsets?
