The moon is a fitting metaphor to describe our lives asfollowers of God in the way of Jesus. On its own, the moon has no internalsource of light. It is not a star but rather a celestial body that reflects thelight of the sun at night. In essence, the moon is a giant mirror ball, bouncing the light of the sun towards the earth, providing a pathway in thedarkness of earthʼs night. Is our mandate as children of God who share Hislight with each other not to do the very same thing, bathing our world in thecleansing beauty of His Light?
