In this episode, Brian T. Arnold has a 39-minute conversation with screenwriter and author Scott Myers!
Scott is the author of The Protagonist’s Journey: An Introduction to Character-Driven Screenwriting and Storytelling, a #1 Best Seller on Amazon. He's also written over thirty movie and TV projects at almost every major Hollywood studio and broadcast network. His screenwriting credits include K-9, Alaska, and Trojan War. Since 2008, Scott has hosted GoIntoTheStory.com, the official screenwriting blog of the Black List, which was named Best of the Best Scriptwriting Website by Writer’s Digest. Scott is currently an assistant professor of screenwriting at DePaul University.
Listen to us talk about what he felt was missing from most current popular screenwriting books, how character drives story, the importance of making your reader react emotionally, how his book utilizes the philosophies of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell to explain character journeys, the impact his book and website have had on writers at every level, and much more!
It's a great book that I highly recommend. Order on Amazon or wherever you buy your books!
And, you can find Scott on Instagram and Twitter at @GoIntoTheStory or on his website GoIntoTheStory.com.
