Jon Bausor is a multi award winning set and costume designer working in mixed stage genres including Theatre, Dance, Opera and large scale performance. He designed the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games in London in 2012 and has made work for many national and international theatres and opera houses including the National Theatres of UK, Scotland, and Wales, Finnish and Norwegian Opera houses, Glyndebourne Opera, the Imperial Theatre, Tokyo, the ShiberHur theatre of Palestine as well as numerous Broadway and West End theatre and musical productions including Bat Out of Hell, and the Grinning Man which received a UK theatre award for Best Design. As an associate artist of the Royal Shakespeare Company he has designed numerous productions including Hamlet, King Lear, The Winterβs Tale and the entire 2012 season. Jon originally trained as a cellist, and singer, studying at the Royal Academy of Music and Oxford University before training on the Motley Theatre Design Course.
