In Chapter 5, Elyse does a deep dive into the days in between Jaclyn being kidnapped and murdered. We are introduced to four prominent investigators whose involvement in the case resulted in even further mishandling of the evidence, which complicated the ability for investigators to return Jaclyn home safely.

This chapter will shed light upon how  various pieces of evidence were looked at, analyzed, and studied.

Many questions arose as a result of how the evidence was disregarded. The challenging look at this time will show how David’s statements were precarious and confusing.
