Jimmy Rabbitte is convinced that if he can build a Soul band in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland, that the crowds of working-class folks will come. Even though the band comes together and the all-white group initially struggles with the music, they have some small successes. That may be all they have unless he can get them to stop fighting with each other all the time.
