Carrie Fisher was my first celebrity crush and while Princess Leia provided our introduction, it was Carrie herself that cemented my admiration. You would be hard pressed to find a more authentic and honest individual. I had the pleasure of meeting Carrie a few times and while they say you should never meet your heroes, I’m happy to say Carrie never disappointed- quite the opposite actually. As a writer, she was sublime… but as a person, she had no equal. I’m grateful for the memories and I’ll forever remember her for her humor, strength, and sense of self. Thank you, Carrie Fisher… your positive impact on my life will never be forgotten.
