Prior to launching Podcast Junkies in April of 2014, I had already discovered the wonderful world of podcasts, and was amazed at how much valuable content was there at my fingertips!
When it came to learning how to podcast, I found the New Media Expo conference which I quickly bought a ticket for and attended.
That decision changed my life forever.
While I continue to attend and have spoken at conferences, and believe they are a great way to learn the basics, not everyone is ready for that time and/or investment commitment.
Want to learn more about Podcasting? Start here:
- READ: Start with Make Noise by Eric Nuzum (NPR & Audible veteran). He definitely understands the essentials of what makes a podcast succeed.
- WATCH: This 5-minute video by SquadCast.fm’s Maribel Quezada-Smith, Common Podcast Launch Mistakes & What To Do Instead will save you time.
- LISTEN: To go deeper, listen to How To Start a Podcast For Your Business, a short series (by me!) to help you understand the basics.
These 3 resources will exponentially accelerate your learning process. Links below. Remember, when it comes to podcasting, most podcasters will tell you that they weren’t happy with their first episode and didn’t like the sound of their voice.
As with all things you want to learn, you must put in the time. Your 10th will sound better than your first, your 50th will sound better than your 10th. But you’ll never improve if you don’t take that first step.
