Theodore Rosevelt said “comparison is the thief of joy.” Have you ever had the experience where you did something that you were personally satisfied about and then realised someone else did that 5 years ago? We feel worse about ourselves around people we perceive others around us to be doing.
At The Foundry, we are big believers in curating the right social circle, you become the people you surround yourself with.
Why do we compare? Have you ever considered when you consciously or unconsciously partake in upward &. downward comparison – we rarely look downwards! But real downward comparison could also be described as perspective. If we truly know and understand our values and what success looks like for us, we can truly celebrate others without the worry of personal comparison.
