Julius Caesar, born on July 12, 100 BC, was one of the most influential figures in Roman history. He was a military general, a politician, and a writer who played a significant role in the transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire. Caesar was also known for his military conquests, including the conquest of Gaul, which is modern-day France. His reign as a dictator marked a turning point in Roman history, and his assassination in 44 BC led to a period of political instability and civil war.
