The Cambodian Genocide was one of the most brutal and devastating events of the 20th century. From 1975 to 1979, the Khmer Rouge regime, led by Pol Pot, systematically murdered an estimated 1.7 million Cambodian people, approximately 21% of the country's population. This genocide was one of the most violent and tragic events in human history, and its effects are still felt in Cambodia today.
