The Apollo missions were a series of space exploration missions undertaken by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) during the 1960s and 1970s. These missions were designed to land humans on the moon and return them safely to Earth. The Apollo program was the most ambitious and expensive space exploration program ever undertaken by the United States.
