Yoshi’s Island was released for the SNES in 1995. It’s a spinoff of the Mario series, putting the dinosaur Yoshi on the front lines. Its crayon-like visuals were developed by Nintendo’s internal team as a response to the acclaimed Donkey Kong Country series.
