Chris and Shaun discuss how the perpetual “culture of offense”  impacts the current state of our deeply divided society. 

Initially, they provide examples of how often innocuous events and words can be contaminated through the low-level triggers of offense that often distract us from the real issues. Later in the conversation, they cover how common it has become for the mere indication of “offense” allows for misinformation to grow and eventually destroy logical responses during any debate. Finally, they consider how “offense” has led to the lack of responsibility that all citizens should have in seeking individual responsibility and self-improvement, to remain engaged and informed, as well as a willingness to compromise.
