On February 6th 2018 a Tsunami warning was issued for the east coast of the US, luckily it was just a test that was issued as real by a 3rd party.  Having multiple ways to verify incoming information is a must.  Apps, emergency radio, scanners, even CB and HAM contacts would be beneficial in making the right choices in the case of an actual emergency.
