Today’s topic we are talking about self forgiveness in action. In past episodes we’ve discussed forgiveness in a general manner, but today we are going to focus on forgiveness of self and more specifically after you have come to the realization that you have done some unsavory things and need to figure out your next steps. I know this is a topic we ALL could benefit from.
TOPICS:
- Acknowledge (we say this a lot) what happened. Call it out by what it is.
- Give yourself a break and some grace - sometimes you take 5 steps forward and 3 back. That doesn’t mean you are back to square 1.
- Forgive yourself. Remember, holding onto a grudge or not forgiving yourself keeps you living in the past. What happened, can’t be undone.
- Identify what caused you to do what you did.
- Make changes to prevent yourself from doing what you did again.
