Because we care so much about our parenting, it's easy to feel anxious and worried that we haven't done enough. That's particularly true when your child is chronically ill or in pain. Studying Stoicism has helped me here.


Stoicism is NOT about burying your emotions, toxic positivity, or being cold and removed. Rather, it's about understanding what you can do and what you can't - and focusing your time, efforts, and happiness on doing what you can. Stoics base their happiness on what they can control - their own actions - not on an outcome that they can't.  That's a great philosophy for spoonie moms.
