One of the knocks against the federal Conservative party, rightly or wrongly, is that it’s not friendly to women.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has tried to play up this division with initiatives like a gender-balanced cabinet, and targeting the party of Andrew Scheer over issues like abortion.
We look at how some Conservative candidates are trying to break the stereotype, what inspired them to run, and what it means to the party in this election.
