When people think about sports and Alberta, there are two things that immediately come to mind: The Oilers dynasty of the 1980s, and Calgary’s appearance on the world stage as hosts of the 1988 Olympic Winter Games.

It’s a  possibility that Calgary and surrounding alpine slopes will once again host the best athletes on the snow

But it’s not without controversy. We look at the debate that has a bid for the 2026 games on thin ice.
