Frances reads letters from Edmund, Avice and Enid, written in November 1907. The siblings are planning a special Christmas edition of the Budget, and are all busy writing items for it, including limericks, which were wildly popular in the early 1900s . Avice has been to see Yeoman of the Guard. And she is playing hockey and wearing a short hockey skirt – but there is no cause for alarm, she is still quite respectable, the hem of a short hockey skirt was about 10cm above the ankle in the early 1900s.
