Frances reads a letter by Rev. Dr Cox, written in 1907. He dictated it to his son Bernard, who scribbled it all down, declaring himself to be exhausted once he had finished. Dr Cox wrote an account: " .... of the various places that I frequent for the purpose of satisfying an innocent appetite". What delightful language our ancestors used.'London Lunches and Town Teas' is the title Dr Cox gave his account. Some of the places are still there, and by using the internet and maps it is possible to work out where many of London's tea shops and restaurants used to be. You can contact Frances - [email protected] - @CoxLetters00:00 Intro02:28 London lunches and town teas31:49 Notes on Dr Cox's review of restaurants
