Used car salesmen try to convince you that you need what they have to sell. The bad ones do, anyway. Don't be like a bad used car salesman. 

Your value is inherent. If someone else doesn't see that, don't waste your energy trying to convince them. No one likes to be convinced, and you deserve to be with those who already know the kind of person you are.
