Ah, masculinity. Beautiful. Fragile. Terrifying. American Psycho was written by a gay man and directed by a woman and is a fiercely satirical glimpse into what it's like to be a man in the modern(ish) world. The film is an absolute classic and offers a rare glimpse into the fabled female gaze, something which is all too rare within the horror genre.
