In the early morning hours of June 6, 1996, a 911 operator in Rowlett, Texas, received a call from 26-year-old Darlie Routier. The hysterical mother of three reported someone had broken into their house and attacked her and her two young sons.

But when the police arrived at the scene, they quickly realized many things in Darlene's story did not add up.
